Artworkshop at a summer camp for children i Ålesund, Norway, 29.07-2.08.
My aim for the week was to inspire the kids to explore the local area for making materials and colour extracted from natural material. I wanted them to develop a curious and playful mind and enjoy using their hands for creating. We made paper from bog sludge and grass, extracted clay and sieved, dried, sculpted and fired, made our own drawing charcoal and extracted pigments from berries, earth and flowers and made "animal dwellings" from stone, mud, moss and twigs.
